Start with a reference pair
Record the labeled size and the measurements of a pair you already find comfortable. Note whether a number describes foot length, removable insole length or another dimension: these are different measurements. Ask for the same measurement method on the candidate pair.
Request the size chart for the exact listing and variant. A size letter, EU number or conversion printed on a generic chart does not establish that this particular pair will fit.
Sneakers: compare matching views

Runner-style shoes: appearance is not performance
A mesh-like upper, sculpted sole or running-inspired shape does not establish weight, cushioning, grip, support or suitability for exercise. If a listing makes a performance claim, ask for a source for that exact model. We have not tested any pair.
For everyday wear, compare fit evidence first. For a specific activity, decide which documented requirements matter before considering appearance. Do not infer material composition or breathability from a close-up alone.
Write down the unresolved question
