Measure a hoodie you already wear

Lay it flat without stretching it. Record chest width from armpit to armpit, body length with a stated starting point, shoulder width and sleeve length. Save the measurement method alongside the numbers so another person's chart can be compared fairly.

A flat chest width is not the same as a full chest circumference. If you double a flat measurement for your own comparison, label the calculation and do not treat it as a body-size recommendation.

Compare the cut before the size label

A dropped shoulder changes where the sleeve measurement starts. A cropped body can have a wide chest. Ask for a drawing or photo showing the source's measurement points, especially if the chart seems inconsistent with the garment photos.

Decide what you plan to wear underneath and use a reference garment with similar layering room. We cannot recommend a size without the exact chart, method and your reference measurements.

Zip hoodies: inspect both open and closed views

Ask for a front view with the zipper closed and the garment lying naturally. Check whether the hem and pocket placement appear aligned, then request a close-up of the slider, teeth and bottom connection.

A straight-looking zipper in a photograph does not prove it operates smoothly. If the zipper catches or opens unexpectedly during a physical check, record that separately from how it looks. Product photos alone cannot establish long-term hardware durability.

Keep fabric claims separate

Fabric weight, garment weight and packaged shipping weight describe different things. Ask which one a listed number represents. Do not infer composition, warmth, shrinkage or softness from a brushed-looking interior.
